Uniting for Dignity: Gesabakwa’s Elder Abuse Awareness Event

Join Gesabakwa Elderly Care Initiative as we stand against elder abuse and champion the rights and dignity of our beloved seniors. On Monday, June 16th, we invite you to a special community event dedicated to raising awareness, fostering understanding, and empowering individuals to protect older persons in our communities.

Event Overview & Importance

Date: Monday, June 16th 2025

Venue: Ogembo Maroba Itibo field

Following World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) on June 15th, our event serves as a crucial platform to address the often-hidden issue of elder abuse. WEAAD calls for attention to the various forms of abuse (physical, emotional, financial, neglect) that affect millions of older people worldwide. At Gesabakwa, we believe that every senior deserves to live a life free from fear, exploitation, and neglect, filled instead with respect, care, and dignity.

This event is more than just a gathering; it’s a call to action. By coming together, we can educate ourselves, learn to recognize the signs of abuse, and understand the vital role each of us plays in creating a safer environment for our elders.

Our event promises to be an enlightening and empowering experience for all attendees. You can expect:
